Annie Clifford Chumbler send this in memory of David.
"Many of you may remember David Eggars. He was one of the kindest, sweetest guys in our class. He wasn't one of us regular classmates. He and his brother Ricky (Class of 1969) were born with Muscular Dystrophy. David was the one who struggled down the halls day after day, with never a complaint. And he had the biggest smiles and happy hellos every single time I saw him. He loved to swim so his parents had a huge pool build so the guys could enjoy that form of exercise. I saw him about 12 years ago and he passed away shortly thereafter. I will never forget David, for his example of a courageous, honorable man. "
Nicely said. I always liked Dave and only saw him a couple of times after HS. He worked at Sam Levitz. For some reason he is one of classmates I rember and think about frequently. Thanks for the kind words. Dennis Lee
Yes Dennis, David went to work for Sam Levitz right out of high school and retired 25-30 years later. The Levitz family was very kind and progressive back in that day. Went in the store often and there was that smiling face again in the front office. Thanks for the reminder of where he worked.
