I was so sad to learn of Pat's passing, especially since she was one of my best friend's in high school. I have so many fond memories from those years. The last time I saw her was at the PV 20 year reunion in 1986.
Dennis Moore passed away November 13, 2025 in Tucson. Born July 26, 1948 to Tom and Maggie Moore and was a lifelong Tucsonan.
Dennis graduated from Palo Verde HS and attended UA. His sport was weightlifting. Tucson Citizen Sports Editor claimed he was one of the finest athletes ever produced by Tucson. A true powerhouse, Dennis had the discipline, toughness and winning attitude that earned him national championships including Teenage, Junior National and ultimately 1973 U.S. Senior National Weightlifting Champion and All American honors.
Dennis' spirited life led him to the most interesting experiences. His personal workout rooms were legendary for the extraordinary athletes, gifted lifters as well as fun loving characters.
His career began in the gym equipment business with mentor Johnny Gibson, then owned a metal fabrication business, sales/marketing for a major building contractor and back to his roots as an athletic trainer and the Iron Game.
Humble, quick wit, sporty cars, loyal friendships, big smile, blond hair blowing in the wind. He will be missed. Stay Strong.
